From the left: Noel Coward, Lydia Bylbrook and Charles Hawtrey. 1911.

"The Sun at noon is like a pool of gold
Towards whose uncertain brink the clouds have rolled
To quench their thirst. Likewise the invisible winds
Drink fire, and all my heart is sun-consoled."
(Harry Crosby, Quatrains to the Sun, 1927)

Greta Garbo. Story of Divine.

"Ave Maria", and Beyoncé's voice. Sometimes, I realize that great voices and interpretations are not lost with the past, and I mistrust those present times a little less...

Judy Garland singing for the animation movie "Gay Purr-ee" (my favourite! *.* And Ms Garland gives voice to the adorable Musette).
"Take my hand, Paree", dedicated to the best city in the world, Paris...

Not many people know the origin of the word "robot". To my surprise, the term was invented by a writer, Karel Capek, in 1921.

On January, the 25th, that year, a play called "R.U.R." premiered in Prague. In it, the word "robot" was used to mark an artificial creature.

To Eunice Kathleen Waymon, (1933 - 2003). Alias, Nina Simone.
"The worst thing about that kind of prejudice is that while you feel hurt and angry and all the rest of it, it feeds your self-doubt.
You start thinking, perhaps I am not good enough."
(Nina Simone)

"Jazz is a white term to define black people.
My music is black classical music."
(Nina Simone)
"Try a little tenderness". Nina Simone's amazing cover.

"They're all desperados, these kids, all of them with any life in their veins;
the girls as well as the boys; maybe more than the boys."
(Flaming Youth)
Junior Dispatch, by Dispatch Staff. (July 27, 2010). At the right time, in the right land, where everything was possible.

20's, 30's, 40's might. Or in other words, Art Deco.

Wow, the Roaring Twenties... America, Europe... but what about Asia?

Love.
"When they are alone, they want to be with others. And when they are with others, they want to be alone. After all, human beings are all the same."
(Gertrude Stein, 1874 - 1946)

"No one to talk with
all by myself
No one to talk with
but I'm happy on the shelf
 Ain't misbehavin'
I'm savin' my love for you."
